Back in July I was invited to the #ChevyNAHJ ride and drive media event here in Miami. During the event I had the opportunity to drive the all new 2014 Chevy Impala. Although I only drove the car for around 20 minutes, it was enough for me to fall in love with it. When I got home I told my husband how much I love the features and the way the car handles. Unbeknown to me, Chevy was going to give four lucky participants the opportunity to win a complimentary 7-day vehicle loan. Amazingly I was one of those four lucky winner and got the chance to drive the 2014 Chevy Impala 2014 for seven whole days and today I will tell you about my experience with it.
I received the Chevy Impala 2LZ which features HID headlamps and LED daytime running lamps, 19-inch aluminum wheels, and chrome accents. The interior features premium leather-appointed seats with heated front seats, complementary trim, chrome accents, and ice-blue ambient lighting. The Chevy Impala standard safety package includes: Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Side-Blind Zone Alert and rear cross-traffic alert. Additionally the Chevy Impala features 10 standard air bags and features a stiff body using ultra-high-strength steel. The Chevy Impala 2014 2LZ model MSRP starts at $35,770, the model I drove was fully-equipped and retails for about $39,510.
As you can see from the images above the car’s interior is spacious and can seat five extremely comfortably. We installed our daughter’s car seat and there was still ample room for the boys to sit comfortably. The center console features conveniently located USB port, no more excuses that there aren’t enough outlet for the kiddos tablets. The back seats can be folded to allow for more truck space in case you need to haul large items. The driver and the front passenger’s seats feature dual-zone automatic climate control: heat or cooled zones. Both drive and passenger seats can be raise and lower to your specific needs, you can set the up to two individual driver’s preference on the seat memory.
The 2014 Impala has the latest Chevrolet MyLink technology including an available 8-inch color touch-screen. The Impala also comes equip with Bose sound system, SiriusXM Radio and Mobile Apps. You can sinc your smartphone to work with the on-board system, with the touch of a button you can make and answer phone calls. You can also check the diagnostics, contact road side assistance using OnStar Application, the driver can also check the tire pressure and oil level. As a parent, one of my favorite features in the Impala is the back-up camera, it allows you to back up with full visibility of what is behind you. I really appreciate the grid feature when you are going in reverse.
For busy parents out there, Chevy Impala features Keyless entry and push button to start the car. The 2014 Impala features an 18.8 cu. ft. of trunk space, enough to load it up with enough groceries for a moth! 😉 The 2LZ model also boasts the power and performance of a 3.6L V6 and 305 horsepower engine. Gasoline performance on the Impala is 29 MPG on highway and 19 in the city, as well as E85 compatible. One of my favorite features in the Impala is the standard dual-pane sunroof, which is perfect for the back sit passengers to enjoy the view. The center console is also equip with cup holders, you can never have too many of those when you have little ones. The Chevy Impala 2014 is a cool car, everyone we showed the car to were extremely impressed with it. My in-law feel in love with it, they couldn’t keep their eyes off of it and both my brother-in-law and his wife were so enchanted with it that are now thinking of getting one themselves. I was so thrilled to have this awesome car for a week, you can find more information about the Chevy Impala 2014 HERE
